Japan 🇯🇵

Let’s throw it back to Japan. Kyoto was absolutely mesmerizing. With only 24 hours we saw the top 3 temples, explored the Nishiki market, took a dip in our hotel hot spring and had the most incredible/life changing Kobe steak.

Tokyo was cool and the standout activities were the art museums.

While we’re on the topic of Norway: Oslo 2016

Let’s take it back to 2016 when my friend Ryan and I booked a spontaneous trip to Oslo for a long weekend. On zero sleep, with coffee ☕️in hand, we chose a random spot on google maps and drove 2 hours to verdens ends tjome. Highly recommend. We spent the rest of our time taking fjord rides and visiting the many art and culture museums in Oslo. We stopped by the Viking museum, bought matching lucky Nordic pendants and even saw Edvard Munch’s famous scream portrait 😱.

Copenhagen

A brief 2 day stop through Copenhagen after Norway. One of my favorite cities with some of the friendliest people. Copenhagen is considered a gastronomic capital of the world! We enjoyed our tasting menu at Marv & Ben, where they even baked me a homemade fresh loaf of GF bread. And can we talk about their melty perfect bread butter???

Northern Norway

Back in April 2022, we traveled through northern Norway driving from Oslo to Lovatnet Lake to Geirangerfjord and finally to Alesund. We slept very little on our red-eye flight, and arrived in Oslo feeling jetlagged. We attempted to make the 6 hour drive to Lovatnet and wouldn’t have made it if it weren’t for gas station coffee and Red Bull.

Lovatnet Lake, Geirangerfjord, and Ålesund are three of the most iconic and beautiful destinations in Norway. Each of these locations offers its own unique appeal and special qualities that make them truly remarkable.

Lovatnet Lake is a stunning glacial lake surrounded by towering mountains, which is located in the heart of the Jostedal National Park. Its crystal clear waters and picturesque setting make it an ideal spot for hiking, fishing, and photography. In addition, the lake is also known for its unique geography, as it is part of the larger Jostedal Glacier, the largest glacier in mainland Europe.

Geirangerfjord is one of Norway's most famous fjords, and it is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is known for its stunning natural beauty, including towering waterfalls, steep cliffs, and deep blue waters. Visitors to the fjord can take a boat tour to admire the breathtaking scenery, or hike the many trails that offer stunning views of the surrounding landscape.

Ålesund is a charming coastal town located in the West Coast region of Norway. It is famous for its Art Nouveau architecture, which was rebuilt after a fire in 1904 destroyed much of the town. Visitors to Ålesund can admire the town's distinctive, pastel-colored buildings, explore its many museums and galleries, and enjoy its delicious seafood cuisine. In addition, the town is surrounded by breathtaking scenery, including the Atlantic Ocean, mountains, and fjords, making it a popular destination for outdoor activities like hiking and fishing.

Santiago, Chile

Photos from the rooftop of the W Santiago to the Casablanca wineries to the off-the-grid dirt roads of Maipo Canyon.

Santiago, the capital of Chile, is a bustling city filled with history, culture, and natural beauty. Nestled in the heart of the Andes Mountains, Santiago is a hub for outdoor recreation, delicious food, and endless cultural experiences. One of the most popular destinations for outdoor enthusiasts in the area is the Maipo Canyon, a stunning natural area just a short drive from the city center.

The Maipo Canyon is a beautiful and rugged gorge that has been carved out of the Andes Mountains by the Maipo River. The canyon offers stunning views of the surrounding landscape and is home to a wide range of wildlife, including guanacos, condors, and many species of birds. The area is also popular with hikers, mountain bikers, and rock climbers who come to explore its many trails and climb its towering cliffs.

In Maipo Canyon, we visted Embalse del Yeso, a reservoir accessible by dirt, rugged roads. It is a popular tourist destination and is known for its stunning views and outdoor recreation opportunities.

The reservoir was built in the early 1960s as a source of hydroelectric power for the surrounding area. The dam was designed to hold a large amount of water, which is stored in the lake behind it. The lake is surrounded by rugged, mountainous terrain, making it a popular destination for outdoor enthusiasts.
